Yoga improves balance and endurance

The  western world is surely waking up to benefits yoga.Indiana University encouraged senior stroke victims to practice yoga for an hour , two times a week. The yoga therapist had modified the poses so that the stroke patients could do them with ease.
 



After eight weeks, it was found that their balance improved by 17 per cent on the berg Balance Scale and by  on the Fullerton Advance Balance Scale.In addition the researchers noticed that participants also had an improved confidence in their ability to balance. This is important as there is a high incidence of falls in stroke cities which leads  to other complications such as fractures.The  endurance levers of the participants too improved.The participant also enjoyed doing yoga and wanted to continue practicing in after the study was over.
